*Local 1778 Member Is an Unsung Hero* |
|
Robin De Haven is a local 1778 apprentice glazier who, on the 18th of February, risked his life to rescue five people from a burning building that had been intentionally crashed into by a single engine plane in Austin, Texas. After witnessing the plane crash, Robin rushed into the building, and with quick wit, without regard for his personal well-being, positioned an extension ladder so he could reach up to the second floor. Robin proceeded to climb the ladder, break the window, climb in, and assist five people out before climbing down the ladder to safety! He then lowered the ladder, placed it back on the truck, and left.
We are proud to have a person of this caliber within our membership and would like to thank him for this unselfish act of heroism.
